a weekend getaway.

A couple of weekends ago, three of my dearest friends (Trever, Tiffany, and Ann) and I decided we could all use a weekend away. So, we escaped the inversion that had been resting over the Boise valley for a good 3 weeks or more and made our way to Donnelly and McCall. It was perfect and exactly what we all needed...a beautiful drive, sunshine, snowshoeing, lots of good treats, a movie in our pjs, a hot tub, and just awesome company.

We got up first thing Saturday morning and headed out for some snowshoeing. The cabin we stayed at was right next to Cascade Lake, so we made our way to the lake and this is what we found....

...pure beauty! The morning fog was just lifting off of the lake, revealing the magnificent, blue bird sky...something we hadn't seen in the city for weeks and weeks! That alone made the trip worth it.





After our snowshoeing adventure, we headed into McCall to catch the final "Winter Carnival" events. On our way out of the 2Moto snowbike races (so cool, by the way!!!) we were just walking along when we heard our cute friend, Ann stop and say, "Oh look, I fit under the truck." Ann is 5 foot nothin' and we all busted into laughter when we looked over to see it truly was the perfect fit.

Trever and what he considers, "the perfect trail mix". It consisted of oreos, cinnamon hot lips, peanut m&m's, and peanut butter filled pretzels. The perfect snack for a diabetic kid!

On Saturday night we hit the hot tub before cuddling up on the couch in our pajamas to watch a movie. We of course had to get a picture of our ridiculous selves in our swim suits and snow boots. I think it would make the perfect postcard... (p.s...Ann had to go home Saturday night, that's why she is missing...sad.)


Sunday morning before going to church in Cascade, we went on a morning walk down to the lake again. Again...it was nothing but absolutely beautiful...









All in all, it was a great time and I am so grateful I have such fantastic friends!
